Every Little Step I Take: Trading Survival for Strength

The world has long operated on the law of the jungle: survival of the fittest or a dog-eat-dog hustle. That old way tells us to compete, to guard our resources, and to look out for number one. But beloved, that is not the abundant life God has called us to.

God has given us a new game plan, a new way to walk: Every Little Step I Take. This is a path rooted in Power, Purpose, and Promise.

The old path was about scrambling to survive; the new path is about strengthening each other to thrive.

Power: When You Feel Faint

When the journey feels too heavy, our power comes from an endless source:

"He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might He increases strength." - Isaiah 40:29

In a culture that demands we always be "on," this verse is a permission slip to admit when we are weary. True strength isn't about never getting tired; it's about knowing where to go when you do. God doesn't judge our weakness; He meets it with His limitless might. Our power isn't drawn from our own reserves; it comes from His.

Purpose: Rooted in the Word

When we look at the fleeting nature of life, Isaiah 40 reminds us of what lasts:

"The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever." - Isaiah 40:8

Life hits us unexpectedly. The winds of change and unexpected storms can leave us feeling inconsistent and scattered. But look at the wildflower: it's beautiful, yet fleeting. However, because it's deeply rooted, it keeps drawing life. Our roots must be in the Word of God.

Our purpose is not singular, but collective. That beautiful, rooted wildflower isn't meant to be admired alone; it's meant to grow in a garden. The support for one another—the Abundant Collective—is the garden! Yesterday’s woman struggled with inconsistency, but today’s woman needs consistency—especially with each other. We are meant to be a lifeline, not a competitor.

Promise: The Landscape Changes for You

This new walk isn't just about how we change, but how God changes the landscape for us. This is the promise:

"Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all mankind together will see it..." - Isaiah 40:4-5

This means the obstacles aren't permanent! The valleys of doubt, the mountains of challenge, the rough ground of difficult circumstances—God promises to adjust them for our passage.

Consistency: The Key to the Game

This is where the game Every Little Step I Take becomes personal.

If you want to get to your destination—whether it’s a new business, a stronger marriage, a healthier body, or deeper fellowship—you have to move. You know the feeling: you want something, but you wait for the "right time." You sit in the car until the very last minute because you don't want it bad enough to start the engine, hit a few red lights, and deal with the traffic.

The enemy of consistency is that fleeting feeling: "I don't feel like it." "I'm too emotional today."

You must want the promise—the abundant life—bad enough to be disciplined when the feeling isn't there.

The good news? You don't have to map out the entire destination—every stop sign, every corner, every red light. That's too overwhelming. The only thing you have to figure out is the next little step.

  • What is the one thing you can be consistent in this week?

  • What is the one commitment you can keep to a sister in the Collective?

  • What is the one verse you can read today?

God is not asking you to leap across the valley; He's asking you to take one necessary step—and He promises He will be there with His power and promise every single time you move.

Take your step.
